Demyx is a creature called a Nobody -- they possess no heart (heart in this case seeming to mean less the physical muscle and more the emotional-mythological part of the "heart", although the argument could be made that the muscle is missing as well) and therefore do not actually exist. He's number nine of 13 high-ranked Nobodies, meaning he can retain human form -- which lower Nobodies cannot -- and has some specialized abilities.
Demyx attacks with a huge and colorful sitar, and a series of water-based attacks. While powerful, Demyx's skills seem to lie more in the defensive than the offensive, although his water spells can pack quite the punch. He is the most friendly of the group -- a little fumbly even, and it's sometimes unclear what he's doing mixed up in some of the plots his fellow Nobodies get up to.
AU
Demyx in AU is really happy to get out on his own, away to college, and make some friends. He's friendly and outgoing -- and while he wants to get along with people and be helpful, he's not about to let people walk all over him, either. Demyx is on the swim team, so he gets up early to practice for that. When's he's not with friends, Demyx spends long hours in his room or his floor's lounge, practicing on his over-sized sitar. One day he wants to have a band, where he hopes the sheer unorthodox that is his instrument will be a selling point.
Demyx originally comes from a small town in the middle of nowhere, so he's starving for some good, diverse cultural interaction, and loves making friends -- especially if said friends are quirky or have interesting traits. He loves music and will listen to almost anything -- especially if it's experimental -- but he has a soft spot for indie rock and country music.
Appearance
Demyx is average male height and build with the extra muscle mass in his shoulders that comes from extensive lap-swimming and carting his oversized instrument around. Demyx is a pretty boy, with striking cheekbones, bright blue eyes and blond hair. His hair style is completely ridiculous -- a combination of a mohawk and a mullet -- but he somehow manages to make it look fabulous.
